J. Isabel Designs: A Journey of Creativity and Growth with OMTech
Hi, I’m Jessica Salceda, the founder of J. Isabel Designs! My journey into the world of laser engraving and design has been an incredible adventure, filled with passion, creativity, and community. Here’s my story.
How It All Began
Eight years ago, I started my business with a small dream — to make beautiful, personalised gift boxes. I began with an old laser machine that someone passed down to me. It worked fine, but it had many limits. In the beginning, I spent a lot of time engraving gift boxes, one by one. I learned as I went and kept improving my designs.
Every project taught me something new. I didn’t have fancy tools, but I had a strong drive to create. I tried different styles until I found what I loved. The early days were full of long hours and hard work. Still, those challenges helped me learn and grow. Step by step, I built the foundation for my business today.
The Upgrade to OMTech
Since I joined OMTech, my business has grown faster than I ever thought possible. I’ve been lucky to work with many amazing clients and be part of their special moments. I’ve made personalized signs for small shops, decorations for big parties, and custom designs for local events.
Every project means a lot to me. One of the best parts of my work is seeing how much people connect with what I make. It feels amazing to know that something I created becomes part of someone’s story — whether it’s for a wedding, a new store, or a family celebration.
I’m also really grateful for the community around me. The support from other makers and my clients has been incredible. We share ideas, cheer each other on, and celebrate every win together. This kind of support keeps me going and inspires me to keep creating every day.
Growth and Opportunities
Since joining OMTech, my company has grown faster than I could have ever imagined. I have been fortunate to work with many great clients, and be a part of their very special moments. I have created personalised signs for small businesses, decorations for large celebrations, and unique designs for local events.
Each project is close to my heart. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is seeing how much people identify with my creations. It's incredible to know that something I've created is part of someone's story, whether it's a wedding, a shop opening, or a family celebration.
I also really appreciate the community I've built. The support from other creatives and my clients is incredible. We share tips, celebrate our successes, and encourage each other. This sense of belonging motivates me every day.
Making It Work - The Business Side
Bringing OMTech into my workshop didn't just help me creatively - it helped me build a real business. We've hit some milestones I never thought possible with that old machine, and that's allowed me to invest back into what I love doing.
But what really matters to me? It's seeing how people respond to my work. Knowing that something I created is part of their special memory - that's what gets me up and excited to work every morning.
Financial Success
Financially, my business has seen significant growth since incorporating the OMTech laser machine. While earnings vary from year to year, we’ve been fortunate enough to hit six figures. It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come and to know that people choose my business to be part of their special occasions. It’s a testament to the quality of work and the passion I put into each piece.
Gratitude and Future Plans
I'm incredibly grateful for how far this journey has taken me. Even now, I still get that thrill when I bring a new idea to life with my laser. There's always something new to try - different materials, different techniques, different collaborations.
